Shepton Mallet Fire Station Training Session

This week Willmotts Transport held a training session at our Quarry Way site for Shepton Mallet Fire Station to have the opportunity for familiarisation around Class 1 LGV vehicles.

Run by our Health and Safety Officer, Adi Figg, the Fire Brigade team were given instruction on critical processes covering safety and risk awareness on hand brakes, landing legs, jacking points and suzie air lines which provide compressed air to the trailer braking system.

This is all part of a wider training programme being rolled out across several Mendip towns to ensure that should our local Fire Brigades ever be required to attend an incident involving an articulated vehicle, that they have the knowledge to make the vehicle safe.

'We would like to thank you all once again for the opportunity to use the site for some familiarisation. Also to the technicians/staff who provided help in the evening with setting the vehicle up. It was very much appreciated.

As you can see from the positive feedback it was a worthwhile session.'
