  • HGV Mechanic
Experienced HGV MECHANIC

Wage is negotiable depending on Experience.

The successful applicant will be working in our new workshop on our own fleet, as well as some third party vehicles. Salary will be dependent on experience.

This position is for an experienced fully qualified HGV Mechanic. Your responsibilities will include making sure all work is carried out to a high standard in a professional manor.

You will be working directly under our Workshop Foreman in a brand new heated workshop.

This is a full time permanent position in a rapidly growing Warehousing & Distribution company.

Job Spec: HGV mechanic

– working on a mixture of vehicles, the successful applicant will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair:

  • 6 weekly vehicle inspections.
  • 6 – 12 weekly trailer inspections.
  • General servicing and pre-planned maintenance.
  • Reactive maintenance as required.
  • MOT preparation & presentation.
  • Correction of running defects.
  • Full vehicle overhauls / engine and gear box repairs
  • Tyre work
  • Fault finding and Diagnosis
  • Local breakdowns (fully equipped workshop van)
  • Working to DVSA standards
  • Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings on a rota.

Person Spec

  • Have a recognized motor vehicles apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • HGV mechanical engineering experience.
  • LGV licence C + E would be an advantage.

  • Warehouse Operatives

Potential candidates must have prior experience in a similar role and:

  • Hold forklift licences for both a ‘Reach’ forklift and a ‘Counter Balance’ style forklift.
  • Have prior experience in a warehouse or distribution facility.
  • Pick and pack goods.
  • Rework goods.
  • De-stuff Containers
  • Take part in the day-to-day operations of our warehouses and storage facilities.

 

 


  • LGV1 Drivers

Full time – Monday to Friday with the occasional Sunday

 

 


  • LGV2 Drivers

Full time – Monday to Friday with the occasional Sunday
