LOGISTICS PLANNER

Job Description
Main Responsibilities
To support the Senior Logistics Manager in the effective running of the logistics department in accordance with the company’s procedures.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
• To plan and route trucks on a daily basis in the most cost effective way for the company
• Collate information and input data onto Willmotts Transport TMS and maximising loads and revenue
• Liaise with customers as required and act upon any issues raised in an efficient and competent manner, informing the Senior Logistics Manager of action taken or required where necessary
• Managing drivers on a daily basis and maximising their driver hours within the tachograph regulations and working time directive
• Respond to and follow up enquiries by email, post, telephone and liaise with your direct line manager about any enquiry of work
• Monitor and report on activities and provide reports to management
• Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development
• Conduct all duties in an effective safe manner ensuring that all aspects of Health Safety, Environmental and Quality are complied with by all persons under your control
Aims and Objectives:
To understand all procedures within the transport office and to take a more active planning role.
To be part of the transport office shift pattern and take more responsibility in routing vehicles as the role of logistics planner. To also improve systems and bring in new ideas and efficiencies, to improve the day to day running of the business and grow the business with the help of sales.
Qualifications and Skills:
Candidate must have experience in a similar role.
Transport Management CPC favourable.
Salary to be based on experience.

LGV & General Mechanics Willmotts Transport Ltd – Shepton Mallet
Fully qualified/skilled Mechanic
Semi qualified/skilled Mechanic
Level 1, 2 & 3 apprenticeships

The successful applicant will be working in our new workshop on our own fleet, as well as some third party vehicles. Salary will be dependent on experience.
The positions available are for a Mechanics able / willing to work on heavy goods or light goods vehicles. Your responsibilities will include making sure all work is carried out to a high standard in a professional manor. You will be working directly under our Workshop Foreman in a brand new heated workshop.
This is a full time permanent position in a rapidly growing Warehousing & Distribution company.
Job Spec: HGV mechanic
– working on a mixture of vehicles, the successful applicant will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair:
• 6 weekly vehicle inspections.
• 6 – 12 weekly trailer inspections.
• General servicing and pre-planned maintenance.
• Reactive maintenance as required.
• MOT preparation & presentation.
• Correction of running defects.
• Full vehicle overhauls / engine and gear box repairs
• Tyre work
• Fault finding and Diagnosis
• Local breakdowns (fully equipped workshop van)
• Working to DVSA standards
• Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings on a rota.

Person Spec
• Have a recognised motor vehicles apprenticeship (or equivalent).
